Get ahead of your on-site lunch or your annual office barbecue with these tantalizing metropolitan area corporate catering options—because disgruntled buns with a slather of mayo and week-old lettuce won’t exactly boost morale.
More than just breakfast
The Granola Bar flagship opened in Westport, Conn., in 2013, and given the company’s name, it’s no surprise that these guys excel at breakfast food, but the all-day food menu also has plenty great food including steak sandwich and caesar salad. Bonus: very generous portions.
Since launching the NYC caterer in January, Dana Noorily, founder and co-CEO, said the company has formed partnerships with several law and financial firms and run events for the Junior League of New York, Nordstrom and Esquire, among others.
“Our customers appreciate our capabilities throughout the day because of finding a solution for [all three meals] it’s rare,” Noorily said.
Eclectic mix
You know and love Breads Bakery for babka, but expand your flavor horizons the next time your boss asks you what to order for the pod stack.
For breakfast, spring for the premium option, which includes granola and yogurt Swiss muesli cups, assorted mini quiches, mini scrambled egg sandwiches, a bread basket with hummus, tzatziki and labne, and a coffee kit.
Lunch (pictured above) offers you mini sandwiches, Israeli salad cups, appetizers, various mini burekas and that famous sliced chocolate babka.
Rich pleasures
Picture this: You and your co-workers sailing the Hudson. As the sun sets, you’re dining on gazpacho, green pea and hummus with lemon turmeric and veggie beetroot balls.
That’s exactly what Le Botaniste, an organic, vegan, high-end, fast-casual, gluten-free concept, brought out for its customers last year.
“It was unique and fun to work with the client to create their vision of healthy and delicious vegetables while enjoying the beautiful skyline,” said co-founder Laurent Francois.
Bolo pasta—with quinoa fusilli, bolognese sauce, green vegetable oil, and a “seed topping”—is a hearty and invigorating choice. Chocolate pecan or peanut butter quinoa cookies are always a good idea.
Made sustainable
I went to my local Sweetgreen outpost to see what all the fuss is about and I assure you it is raving worthy. I could hardly put my bowl away from the Shroomami bowl – warm portobello mushrooms from Mother Earth, with shredded cabbage, cucumbers, roasted almonds, basil, kale and wild rice, with delicious tofu and a miso, sesame and ginger dressing .
For large orders, choose from three meal packages with an individually wrapped assortment of the restaurant’s most popular items, including an offer for plant lovers.
Keep everyone happy
Come hungry when you order catering from Daily Provisions. Standouts include the family-style beet and quinoa salad with kale, carrots, onions, chickpeas, feta, pepitas and a spicy white wine vinaigrette; and the Baked Chicken Family Meal, which includes two whole chickens with crispy potatoes, Brussels sprouts, Caesar salad, chilled green bean and tomato salad, Caesar dressing and continental dressing.
Don’t miss their famous “for the crowd” ones with your choice of maple, cinnamon or flavor of the month.

Bling bagels
Since the launch of the new catering boxes in June, social media has been going crazy for H&H Bagels. Any New Yorker will tell you that the Nova Salmon Box with The Works is the best option, featuring thinly sliced melted smoked Nova Scotia salmon, served with bagels, spread, tomatoes, onions of your choice you. capers and lemon wedges
House-made salads are also a good choice, with tuna, whitefish and egg salads getting our vote.
“Our team realized that traditional bagel food is outdated and heavy, so we saw this as an opportunity to offer something fresh and innovative in the space,” said Jay Rushin, CEO of H&H Bagels.
No big deal
Mangia has been in the catering game since 1981 with a 24/7 bakery that clearly knows what it’s doing. Favorites include the campo panini made with roasted fennel, asparagus, spinach and vegan mayo on pizza bianca bread. Open-faced tartine boxes of juicy wild smoked salmon are crowd pleasers.
Mangia became the chosen catering partner for the Global Citizen Festival that takes place in Central Park every summer.
“All our offerings are always made fresh on premise,” said Elena Consta, Mangia’s director of sales and marketing. “We worked 16 hours straight and made 40,000 boxed salads, entrees and sandwiches from scratch. Our guests in the store thought we were leaving!”
